Heat Warning & Poor Air Quality Advisory – July 15, 2026

Environment Canada has issued a Heat Warning and Special Air Quality Statement on Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Residents are encouraged to take precautions to reduce the risk of heat-related illness and minimize exposure to poor air quality.

Protect Yourself

• Drink plenty of water throughout the day.
• Stay in air-conditioned or cool indoor spaces whenever possible.
• Limit strenuous outdoor activities, particularly during the hottest part of the day.
• Keep windows and doors closed if smoke is affecting local air quality.
• Check on family members, neighbours, older adults, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Cooling Centre

The Southgate Ruth Hargrave Memorial Library is available as a Cooling Centre today.

Date: Wednesday, July 15, 2026
Hours: 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Residents who need relief from the heat are welcome to use the facility during these hours.
