Emergency Services
The Township of Southgate provides fire prevention and protection services through the Dundalk Fire Department, and is responsible for policing, which is contacted to the Ontario Provincial Police. The Township also prepares for the event of a public emergency through frequent emergency management exercises, and works with community partners to ensure that resources are available for individuals facing hardship or needs.
Fire Services
The Township of Southgate operates the Dundalk Fire Department to provide emergency response to communities. The Dundalk Fire Department operates on a volunteer basis. If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1.

The Township of Southgate is protected and policed by the Ontario Provincial Police, Grey Bruce Detachment.

The Township of serviced by many hospitals in neighbouring communities, including Brightshores Health Services - Markdale, North Wellington Health Centre, and the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Durham
Bruce Grey Community Safety and Well-Being Plan
Community Safety and Well-Being Planning has allowed over 70 community partners in Bruce and Grey to come together to discuss resident perceptions and begin to explore local data related to safety and well-being.
