Fireworks Reminder | Victoria Day

With Victoria Day coming up, residents are reminded that fireworks may only be discharged in accordance with the Township of Southgate Fireworks By-law.

Under Section 3 of the by-law, fireworks are permitted between dusk and 11:00 p.m. on:

Sunday, May 17, 2026
Monday, May 18, 2026 — Victoria Day
Tuesday, May 19, 2026

Fireworks are not permitted outside of the authorized days and times unless an exemption has been approved.

Residents are also reminded to use fireworks safely and respectfully. Fireworks must not be discharged in a way that creates a hazard, nuisance, or damage to property, and they are not permitted on Township-owned public lands, parks, trails, roads, sidewalks, or boulevards.

Fireworks are also not permitted when a Fire Ban is in effect.

Please celebrate safely and be mindful of neighbours, pets, livestock, and those who may be sensitive to loud noises.
