Media Release - "Flato" Receivership - June 30, 2026

The Township of Southgate is aware of recent reports that certain properties owned by or affiliated with Flato Developments Inc. within the Township are subject to a Receivership Order. We recognize that this news may be concerning for property owners, prospective purchasers, and members of the community. The Township remains committed to supporting the community and providing information as it becomes available.

The Township would also like to clarify that the properties identified as being subject to the receivership proceedings are undeveloped lands. Existing developed residential neighbourhoods and occupied homes within the Township are not included in the receivership proceedings.

As this matter is subject to ongoing legal proceedings, the Township is limited in the comments it can provide. The Township will continue to monitor the situation and work with the court-appointed receiver and other relevant parties to address matters related to the subject properties, including any ongoing development agreements and related matters, as the process moves forward.

The Township remains committed to keeping the public informed of any significant developments that may affect the community.
