Open Air Burn Rating: HIGH

The Dundalk Fire Department has issued a HIGH Open Air Burn Rating.

This is not a burn ban. Open air burning is still permitted where allowed under the Township's Open Air Burning By-law. However, current conditions mean that fires can spread more easily, so extra caution is essential.

We ask residents to:

• Avoid unnecessary burning if it can be postponed.
• Never leave a fire unattended.
• Keep a water source and tools nearby to extinguish your fire if needed.
• Ensure your fire is completely out before leaving the area.
• Stay informed, as burn conditions can change quickly.

With current dry conditions and air quality concerns, postponing non-essential burning is the safest choice whenever possible.
