Bins Out, Bins In!

In accordance with the Township of Southgate’s Waste By-law, the following collection times and curbside set-out requirements are listed below:

• Waste, recycling and organic cart collection takes place between 7:00AM and 7:00PM. Collection may occur outside of these hours if required due to the weather or maintenance delays, as determined by the Township.
• Residents must place their collection carts at the curb no earlier than 7:00PM on the day before collection, and no later than 7:00AM on collection day.
• All carts – whether emptied or not – must be removed from the roadway by 9:00PM on the day of collection.

The Township has created a Cart Placement and Snow Removal Guide to assist residents in determining where to place their bin. Correctly placing carts ensures snow removal and waste collection can proceed without disruption. Failure to place carts correctly can result in snow pileup, which can narrow roadways and may result in carts being tagged and not collected.
