- All by-law complaints must be submitted in writing before they will be acted on; anonymous complaints may not be investigated, unless the alleged complaints relates to an immediate life safety issue.
- Your information is held in confidence pursuant to the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA)
- Once an investigation is launched a status update is not generally provided to the complaint originator.
- Complaints are investigated in accordance with the Township of Southgate Complaint Policy.
By-Law Enforcement and Property Standards
The Township of Southgate by-laws are in place and enforced in order to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all residents. We are available as a resource to achieve compliance through by-laws and providing education, conducting inspections and issuing warnings or tickets when necessary.
The By-law Enforcement Department is responsible for the investigation and enforcement of a number of Municipal By-laws.

After-Hours By-law Enforcement
After Hours By-law Enforcement is available from Fridays at 4:00PM to Mondays at 7:30AM from April 1st to November 30th each year through Municipal Support Services. Please contact 226-910-1322 during these times should you require assistance.
