Steps for Superior Tanker Shuttle Service Accreditation

To receive recognition from the Fire Underwriters Survey for Tanker Shuttle Accreditation, a Fire Department must meet the specified requirements through stringent testing.

For residential accreditation

Within 5 minutes on arrival with an apparatus, the Fire Department must be able to deliver a minimum flow rate of 950 liters/min (200 imp gal). 

For commercial accreditation

Within 10 minutes on arrival with an apparatus, the Fire Department must be able to deliver a minimum flow rate of 1900 liters/min (400 imp gal).

Residents who own property in the Township of Southgate may be eligible for a cost reduction in their fire insurance rates if they are located within:

Residential: 8 km of the fire station 

Commercial: 5 km of the fire station
