Paint Downtown Dundalk received My Main Street support to draw visitors and
increase local vibrancy on Dundalk’s main streets

September 2024 – Dundalk, ON – The Township of Southgate is pleased to announce that the Paint
Downtown Dundalk project was selected for the My Main Street Community Activator stream and
has received support to install 10 new murals during a weekend festival in its commercial core.

Please be advised that the following Township facilities will be closed on September 26, 2024, for the entirety of the day, due to staff training:

• Township Administrative Office (185667 Grey Road 9, Dundalk, ON, N0C 1B0)
• Dundalk Arena (550 Main St E, Dundalk, ON, N0C 1B0)

The following Township services will still be operational on an emergency basis:

• Fire Services (Dundalk Fire Department)
• Public Works

Finally, please be advised that waste collection for Zone 4 will continue as scheduled.

On Sunday September 8th, 2024, the Township of Southgate will observe National Firefighters Memorial Day. This is a day to honour the memory of, and pay tribute to, fire services personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty while serving our communities. 

In observance of this location, flags at all municipal facilities will fly at half-staff.

Please be advised that there will be asphalt paving operations on various roads within Southgate Township. This roadwork will begin Wednesday, September 4, 2024 and will end approximately Friday, September 20, 2024. 

Affected roads include:

• Southgate Road 04 between Southgate Sideroad 41 and Southgate Sideroad 49.
• Southgate Road 24 between Highway 10 and west of Southgate Sideroad 75.
• Southgate Sideroad 15 between Southgate Road 08 and Southgate Road 12.
